BCS GOLFER TIES FOR THIRD AT TAPPS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Bethesda Christian School’s Caleb Carson tied for third place at the TAPPS 2A State Golf Championship, held April 18-19 at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco.

After two days of tournament play, Caleb earned an 11-over-par 155. His top 10 finish also clinched a spot for him on the TAPPS 2A All-State golf team.

Caleb’s performance at the state tournament capped of a season that included capturing the individual title at the TAPPS 2A North Regional Golf Tournament. Held March 28 at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson, Caleb won the regional title with a score of 72 in a nail-biter requiring a playoff to determine the victor.

His other season accomplishments included a win at the March 7 Fossil Ridge Junior Varsity Tournament, and second-place finishes at the February 27 Burleson Centennial Varsity Tournament and the March 21 Fossil Creek Invitational. Caleb also won the North Texas PGA Junior Tour Tournament at Cross Timbers Golf Course in Azle.

Caleb is the son of Mark and Jennifer Carson of Saginaw. Mr. Carson also served as the sponsor/coordinator for the BCS varsity golf team this season.
