Bethesda Christian School is a calling preparatory school in Fort Worth, Texas. As a private Christian elementary, middle and high school, Bethesda’s Christ-centered programs equip students in achieving excellence in academics, fine arts, athletics and service in the community while consistently building and cultivating strong character.

Beginning in our rigorous kindergarten program, our students are empowered to exceed expectations both in the classroom and in every aspect of their lives. Purposeful character development, advanced academic curriculum, and award-winning fine art and athletic experiences equip students for college and beyond. BCS students are well-rounded, prepared young adults who have a heart to serve the Lord and find fulfillment in accomplishing God’s purpose for their lives.

BCS is an evangelical and interdenominational school with selective admissions. We have served students in the Keller, Saginaw, Hurst, Haslet, Bedford, Euless, Arlington, Fort Worth and surrounding areas in Tarrant County for over 30 years. A ministry of Bethesda Community Church, BCS started in 1980 and is led by principals April Jones and Dr. Bo Ramirez.

Our History

Bethesda Christian School’s history began with the vision of Bethesda Community Church Pastor Emeritus, Des Evans. Pastor Des, who first sensed God’s leading to establish a Christian school after moving to Fort Worth in 1976, stated, “Our goal, from the very beginning, was to provide an atmosphere that is Christian in concept and character … and to provide the quality of instruction that would equip and enable our students to be comfortable as they transition to the most demanding of college disciplines.”

The birth of that vision occurred in the fall of 1980, when BCS opened its doors with a single kindergarten class. BCS added one grade level each year until it became a K-6 elementary school. A middle school was added in 1988. In the mid-1990s, the school board approved Bethesda’s expansion to include a high school, and BCS celebrated its first graduation with the Class of 2000.

From its humble beginnings, Bethesda Christian School has matured into a respected private, college-preparatory, interdenominational Christian school in Tarrant County. Our elementary, middle and high schools now serve a total of 400 students who represent over 100 evangelical churches in Tarrant County.

Although much has changed over the three decades of its existence, the school has not wavered from its original mission of preparing students for their God-given purpose. Bethesda Christian School continues to cultivate student development through Character, Academics and Service.

While thankful for the solid Christian and academic foundation of Bethesda Christian School, our leadership understands that holding to these timeless values ensures its ongoing success. The school looks to the future, drawing upon the words of the apostle Paul: "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" Phil. 3:13-14 (NIV).
