Dear Bethesda Family,
It is with great excitement that we are able to announce our hiring committee has completed its work in our search for a new Secondary Principal (6th - 12th grades). We received dozens of applications from candidates – some local, some from other states, and several from outside the United States. After reviewing applications and holding numerous virtual and in-person interviews, we are pleased to announce that the committee unanimously agreed to extend an offer to Dr. Bonifacio "Bo" Ramirez. Dr. Ramirez has accepted the position and will begin the 2021-2022 school year as the Secondary Principal for Bethesda Christian School.
From our committee's first introduction to Dr. Ramirez, his calling and passion for Christ-centered Biblical instruction made him a standout among the candidates. As we advanced through the interview process and narrowed the field, we had the opportunity to spend extended time in face-to-face interviews with Dr. Ramirez, as well as other finalists. This process provided greater clarity to Dr. Ramirez's outstanding qualifications, including his ability to deliver on the Christian leadership qualities that are highly valued by our school community.
Dr. Ramirez has been in the field of education for more than a decade. He has been a teacher (AP Spanish, history and politics), department chair, campus leader and school administrator for several school districts. He was named “Teacher of the Year” and most recently served as an assistant principal at a charter high school in Keller. In his current role, he is highly valued by his supervisors for his strong commitment to building relationships with families and faculty. He delights in seeing students achieve academic success, but most importantly, he desires to see them grow into followers of Jesus Christ and fulfill God’s call on their lives.
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Dr. Ramirez graduated from TCU after attending the university on a full scholarship as a lead trumpet player. He subsequently earned a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
In 2003 and 2004, Dr. Ramirez received an award, Business Man of the Year for the State of Texas, presented in Washington, D.C. by the Majority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. He sits on advisory councils and boards for various civic, business, and religious organizations, including the Clergy and Police Alliance of Fort Worth and Cop Talk. He is a member of the TCU Alumni of Diversity, Education, and Inclusion Committee. An accomplished musician, he has recorded instrumentals for TCU and Christ For The Nations.
Dr. Ramirez speaks enthusiastically of his experience growing up in a Christ-honoring home, where Jesus was and is the center of the family’s life. As a devoted Christian and a strong believer in the local church, he has served more than a decade on a church staff in the role of executive minister, teaching and working with youth and college students.
Dr. Ramirez comes to us with a unique, heartfelt connection to the Bethesda community. His niece and nephew are graduates of BCS, and he has been a guest speaker at chapel in the past.
Dr. Ramirez and his wife, Ellen, were married in 2016. They have 2-year-old daughter, Maria-Rita, and are expecting their second child this spring. We are delighted to welcome Dr. Ramirez and his family into the Bethesda community.
