At Bethesda Christian School, we endeavor to recognize scriptural truths and establish them firmly in the hearts of our students. The investment we’ve chosen to make in the hearts, minds, and spirits of young people is the foundation for Bethesda’s three distinctives of Character, Academics and Service.

Private education of any type involves a significant financial outlay on the part of parents who choose to enroll their children in such schools. Research has consistently shown that private schools typically offer stronger academic outcomes than most of their government-funded counterparts. Superior academic results are indeed a primary reason why many parents enroll their children in private schools.

As important as academics are, what distinguishes Christian education from its non-Christian counterparts is its philosophy … a philosophy based upon the purpose of human existence from a biblical perspective: to know Christ and to make Him known. The distinguishing feature of Christian education is its deep conviction that truth can be found only by knowing God, the Source of all Truth, through a personal relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ. Bethesda Christian School is firmly committed to a Christian philosophy of education and to teaching from a biblical worldview. Therefore, while academics are extremely important at Bethesda Christian School, the highest goals of a BCS education are to foster in the student a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus and development of Christ-like character. As Donovan L. Graham states in his book, Teaching Redemptively: Bringing Grace and Truth into Your Classroom, “Education is not an end in itself; it is a means to develop a response to our calling in life.”
