The Varsity Boys Basketball Team won the Perrin-Whitt Tournament this past weekend to improve to 8 wins and 1 loss on the season. In the first round, the team was led by Senior Caleb Carson with 28 points and Freshman Luke Carson with 24 points. Sophomore Jacob Owen recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 assists and Camden Groves added 8 points. 

In the second round, the Ambassadors faced tournament host Perrin High School. While the team had a slow start at 19-11 in the first quarter, but won the second quarter at 28-8 and never looked back for a 56-50 victory for a spot in the championship game. Luke Carson led the team with 21 points and 6 assists, followed by Caleb Carson with 20 points. Jacob Owen had 8 points, 6 assists and 5 steals followed by Jaxon Edwards with a season-high 10 rebounds.

In the Championship Game against Chico High School, the Ambassadors opened the first quarter with a 14-5 lead and was stifling on defense for a 44-34 victory and the tournament championship. The Ambassadors were led by Jacob Owen with 15 points, Caleb Carson with 13 points and Luke Carson with 11 points. Caleb Carson was awarded first team all-tournament team. Not shown in the stats was the energy and defense that Juniors Cody Blair and Jaxon Edwards brought to the tournament. It took everyone involved to come out of this as champions.

The Ambassadors look to build off this tournament Tuesday, Dec. 5 night at home versus Irving Stonegate at 7:30 p.m.
